Robert Half Accounts Payable Manager in Washington, District Of Columbia
Description
We are in search of a dedicated Accounts Payable Manager to be part of our client's team in WASHINGTON, District of Columbia. The individual will be responsible for managing all disbursements processing, maintaining credit records, and addressing customer inquiries. This role involves monitoring customer accounts and taking necessary actions to resolve discrepancies. The position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Provide oversight and review the work of 2 AP specialists
• Oversee the full cycle of disbursements, including reviewing and approving work, preparing journal entries, and adjusting entries
• Conduct complex and detailed account reconciliations, including balance sheet and income statement
• Thrive in a high volume, transactional environment, providing support to the team to ensure efficiency
• Pay attention to detail and effectively communicate with both internal and external partners
• Manage the month-end close process, ensuring a fast-paced and efficient operation
• Provide support for audit requests related to disbursements
Requirements
• Must have 7+ years of experience in Accounts Payable/Disbursements and/or general accounting.
• Prior experience with accrual accounting is required.
• Should have hands-on experience in Auditing.
• Should be capable of managing a team and ensuring compliance and completion of typical accounts payable activities.
• A strong background in General Accounting is essential.
• Must have experience in supporting month-end close operations.
