Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Washington, District Of Columbia
Description We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Washington, District of Columbia. The role involves handling the majority of the travel and expense processing in our finance department. The selected candidate will work closely with the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for matching, coding, and processing expense reports among other duties.
Responsibilities:
• Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with company policies
• Provide exceptional service to internal business partners
• Organize, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents to ensure proper storage
• Assist the AP/Finance Department with administrative tasks
• Provide support during internal and external audits as required
• Verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling
• Implement full-cycle A/P
• Open, organize, and distribute department mail daily
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned
• Use Accounting Software Systems and Microsoft Excel proficiently
• Conduct 3 Way Matching and Check Processing
• Utilize Financial Edge and other Accounting Functions
• Process and code invoices. Requirements • Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in executing Accounting Functions
• Knowledgeable in Accounts Payable (AP)
• Familiarity with Check Processing
• Ability to perform efficient Data Entry
• Experience with Financial Edge software
• Understanding of 3 Way Matching process
• Proficient in Coding Invoices
• Experience in Batching tasks in accounting or related fields
