Job Title: Family Law Associate

Location: Washington, DC

Job Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $85,000 - $90,000 per year

Our client is a well-established and reputable law firm specializing in family law matters. With a commitment to providing high-quality legal services, we are currently seeking a skilled Family Law Associate to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial consultations with clients seeking family law assistance.

  • Assess client needs, provide legal advice, and determine the appropriate course of action.

  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including complaints for divorce/custody, responses, and marital settlements.

  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Perform comprehensive legal research to support case preparation and strategy.

  • Stay abreast of changes in family law and related areas to inform legal arguments.

  • Attend trials as second chair, providing support to lead attorneys during courtroom proceedings.

  • Assist in case preparation, witness preparation, and other trial-related activities.

  • Maintain clear and open communication with clients throughout the legal process.

  • Provide updates on case progress and address client concerns in a timely and professional manner.

  • Work collaboratively with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff within the firm.

  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Active license to practice law in the District of Columbia.

  • Proven experience in family law, including managing initial consultations and drafting relevant legal documents.

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.

  • Trial experience as second chair is highly desirable.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Salary and Benefits:
