Description
We are serving as a strategic recruitment consultant for a prominent nonprofit organization largely funded by donations and contributions. Our client is in search of an experienced and dynamic individual to join their team as a Controller. This organization carries a high regard for the positive impact they bring to their cause, and they require a dedicated professional to manage their financial operations.
Reporting to the CFO, as the Controller, you will manage, oversee and control all financial aspects of the organization. This includes ensuring compliance with GAAP for contribution and grant-funded nonprofits, supervising accounting operations, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports and audits.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, and Revenue Recognition
Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Develop and oversee internal financial controls and processes
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field
At least 5 years of proven work experience in a financial oversight role
CPA certification is highly preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP particularly in contribution and grant-funded nonprofits
Prior experience in public accounting is highly favored
