Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Controller in the non-profit industry. Based in Washington, DC, this role involves overseeing a variety of financial and accounting functions, including managing the year-end and month-end financials, approving invoicing, and overseeing staff. Please note that this is a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the production of year-end and month-end financials

• Approve invoicing for funding drawdowns and manage cash

• Prepare and review journal entries

• Approve payroll and oversee a team that includes a senior accountant, billing specialist, and AP/AR clerk

• Manage accounting functions including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

• Utilize QuickBooks Enterprise for financial tasks

• Monitor and manage month-end close and year-end closings

• Prepare financial statements and review journal entries

• Perform other ad hoc tasks as needed

Requirements

• Proficiency in GAAP

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proficiency in using QuickBooks Enterprise

• Experience in restricted funds

• Ability to handle Month End Close procedures

• Experience with Year End Closings

• Ability to prepare Financial Statements

• Experience in reviewing Journal Entries
