Robert Half Desktop Support Technician in Washington, District Of Columbia

Description

We are in search of a Desktop Support Technician to join our team in Washington, DC. This role involves working on information systems design, development, and analysis, covering various areas of technical expertise including programming, software development, systems integration, and more. The position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver desk-side support to users following dispatch from the Service Desk.

  • Stage devices (phones, computers), including installation of OS, renaming computers, joining domains, and installing software.

  • Support end-users in terms of hardware issues, software installation, and network concerns.

  • Provide support for audio/visual equipment in conference rooms and assist with videoconferencing setups.

  • Monitor high-profile user conferences and provide video recording and streaming support as needed.

  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for repair work and work closely with the Asset Management team.

  • Monitor, update, and resolve end-user incidents and requests through the ServiceNow ticketing system.

  • Ensure maintenance of accurate travel logs and complete expense reports within the specified time frame.

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s degree is preferred).

  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.

  • Must be willing to participate in an on-call after-hours support rotation.

  • Candidate selected will be subject to a Government Public Trust security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to the customer’s information.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance.

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, demanding environments.

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
