Robert Half Director of Finance in Washington, District Of Columbia

Description

Robert Half has an exciting opportunity through one of its dynamic clients in the finance sector located in Washington, DC. This role primarily revolves around the critical function of a Director of Finance, with a strong focus on accounting, reporting, forecasting, and compliance. The selected candidate will be working in a remote setting and will be an essential part of our team, fostering relationships with stakeholders both within and outside of our organization.

Key responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and service providers.

  • Supervise accounting operations and strive to develop efficient processes for the betterment of the organization.

  • Guarantee consistent reporting and filings on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

  • Ensure the prompt and precise submission of all tax, corporate, and other organizational filings.

  • Organize annual corporate filings in collaboration with an external partner.

  • Examine all organizational contracts to confirm compliance and cost-effectiveness.

  • Address insurance requirements and other accounting responsibilities.

  • Oversee an annual audit and maintain robust internal control surveillance.

  • Enhance data analysis to comprehend current business trends and anticipate future developments.

Requirements

The ideal Director of Finance candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education. Master's preferred.

Other requirements for the Director of Finance position include and are not limited to:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in corporate and/or non-profit management.

  • CPA preferred but not required.

  • Higher education industry experience preferred.

  • Understanding of accounting, compliance, budgeting, audits, and financial leadership required.

  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately with little direct supervision.
