Robert Half Human Resources Business Partner in WASHINGTON, District Of Columbia



· Execute and provide managerial leadership, expertise on recruitment, compensation, performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, succession planning, and policy formulation, etc.

· Strong working knowledge of federal employment laws such as the FMLA, ADA, FLSA, as well as knowledge of state and local laws, including pertaining to paid sick leave and paid family leave, wage, and hour compliance

· Ensure that managers understand and implement company policies, including disciplinary procedures; hear and resolve employee grievances; counsel managers and employees

· Conduct termination processes when an employee leaves; conduct and analyze exit interviews; communicate recommendations to management

· Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, and maintaining records (such as the Employee Handbook, digital personnel records, etc.)

· Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing, maintaining, and communicating all updates of payroll processing

· Oversee PPLO, workers' comp, withholding notices, and any other regulatory agency and compliance needs related to payroll and legal compliances

· Assists with identifying new, existing, and revised federal, state, county and city employment and labor laws, regulations, and enforcement activity, analyzes cross-company compliance risk and recommends policy and procedural changes to Regional HR Head and respective HR BPs

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Labor Relations, Human Resources, or related fields

· A minimum of 7 years of experience in a fast-paced environment managing multiple compliance projects simultaneously

· 7+ years’ experience as HR Generalist, Employee or Labor Relations, or related roles HR, compliance, or risk management roles

· Strong motivation and inclination for employee engagement at work

· Strong knowledge of relevant laws (e.g., FLSA, ERISA, FMLA)

· Strong knowledge and prior experience of independently conducting investigations and acting on recommendations
