Description
Our client, a policy focused non-profit based in the Washington, DC metro area, is looking for a Lead Application Developer who can competently perform both back and front end tasks, and collaborate with our creative team to build intelligent data solutions.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Develop pixel-perfect, functional, boundary-pushing web applications from wireframes and comprehensive design documents.
• Conduct cross-browser and cross-device testing of web applications.
• Develop custom from-scratch themes for WordPress CMS.
• Integrate with RESTful APIs
• Work closely with creative team, to ensure proper implementation of designs and creative functionality to ensure adequate retention of user experience.
• Build and optimize web pages for speed and responsiveness.
• Provide continuous support and maintenance for numerous web properties.
• Strong knowledge of design principles, typography, user interfaces, Web standards and usability.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
• 3-5 years of experience with from-scratch adaptive/responsive theme development within CMS frameworks.
• 3+ years of experience and proficiency coding in PHP and HTML/CSS/JavaScript .
• Working knowledge of and experience with Content Management Systems like WordPress. and ability to learn new technologies and software as necessary.
• Understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and hit deadlines in a fast-paced wo
