Robert Half Paralegal in Washington, District Of Columbia

Description

We are on the hunt for a meticulous and analytical Paralegal to become a part of our legal team. This role is located in Washington, District of Columbia, and focuses on providing legal support to a prestigious litigation law firm. As a Paralegal, your primary responsibilities will revolve around conducting research, preparing legal documents, and maintaining case files.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing and organizing materials for trials, including coordinating law-related matters

• Conduct legal research and compile data from various legal references

• Manage and organize case files to ensure information is kept updated and accessible

• Work on appellate briefs and have a hands-on experience in appellate practice

• Provide support in federal and state litigation procedures

• Familiarize and work with 'Blue Book' for cite checking purposes

• Handle discovery requests and responses and manage e-Discovery procedures

• Utilize 'Relativity' for data and evidence management in litigation

• Participate in trial preparation and attend trials to assist attorneys with essential case information

• Shepardize case law to validate the currentness of the law cited in legal documents.

Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience as a Paralegal

• Proficient in using Blue Book for legal citation

• Experienced in Cite Check and Cite Check - Shepardize processes

• Familiarity with Cite Checking is crucial

• Must have experience in Appellate, Appellate Briefs, and Appellate Practice

• Knowledge of Courts - Appellate and Courts - Federal is required

• Should be skilled in Discovery, Discovery Requests, and Discovery Responses

• Familiarity with e-Discovery and Relativity software

• Bachelor's degree in Law or related fields

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively

• Strong research and report writing skills

• Must have knowledge of legal terminology and principles

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion.
