Robert Half International Senior Accountant in WASHINGTON, District Of Columbia
We have a new opportunity in the Trade Association industry for a Senior Accountant to join a thriving, innovative company in the WASHINGTON, District of Columbia area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This position offers you great long-term potential and a strong compensation package. We are seeking an individual with strong analytical skills that excels working in a challenging and fast-paced work environment while contributing to the continued success of the firm. This Senior Accountant role is located in Washington, District of Columbia within a very well known association featuring very good work life balance and great benefits.
How you will make an impact
Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes
Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Strong interest in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP
Engage in various department-wide initiatives
Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests

3 or more years of overall general accounting experience - non-profit or trade association experience is a plus
BA/BS in Accounting
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Solid understanding of cash applications
Expertise in adjusting and accrual journal entries
Month end closing experience
Foundational knowledge in budgeting
Financial reporting experience
Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well
ERP system experience
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Able to manage time well
Strong analytical capabilities and discernment
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
