Bring your accounting experience and know-how to a dynamic, growing team at Robert Half Finance, now seeking a full-time Senior Accountant in the WASHINGTON, District of Columbia area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for producing financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. In addition to a strong compensation and benefits package, this position offers a great long-term potential. What you get to do every single day

  • Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests

  • Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP

  • Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

  • Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes

  • Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  • Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives

  • Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

  • Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations

  • Strong interest in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process

Requirements

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel proficiency (SAGE 300 desired, not required)

  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized

  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

  • Command of Month-end Close Activities

  • Solid understanding of general ledger

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Able to manage time well

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA or CPA candidate desired

  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

  • 3+ years of overall general accounting experience

  • Prior work done in public accounting is desired
