Description
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team based in Washington, District of Columbia. The role is located in Georgetown and provides free parking. The role is 100% in office. This role involves various accounting and administrative responsibilities within a dynamic organization. The successful candidate will manage all accounting and financial processes, ensuring accurate record-keeping and efficient operations.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the full cycle of accounting duties, including but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger management.
• Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Conduct bank reconciliations, manage cash flow, and ensure accurate financial record-keeping.
• Handle invoicing, bill payments, and expense reporting in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with external accountants for tax preparation and annual audits.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, project managers, designers, and clients on any issues around billing and invoicing.
• Manage administrative and operational tasks of the office, including but not limited to, managing leases, insurance, supplies, equipment, and facility emails and files.
• Maintain employee records, including attendance, benefits, and performance evaluations.
• Address employee inquiries and resolve HR-related issues in accordance with labor laws and company policies.
• Oversee day-to-day office operations, including supply management, equipment maintenance, and vendor relationships.
• Develop and implement office policies and procedures to improve efficiency.
• Coordinate meetings, events, and travel arrangements for staff.
• Provide administrative support to the leadership team as needed.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
6+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Experience with international banking a plus.
Knowledge of tax preparation and compliance.
Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to work effectively with principal and staff.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
