Robert Half Staff Accountant in Washington, District Of Columbia

Description My client is a growing mission-based nonprofit located in Washington, D.C. with a need for a Staff Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity that will be responsible for various operational accounting duties for the organization. The Staff Accountant will report to the Controller, CPA and will have the following responsibilities:

· Process accounts payable vendor invoices including coding, matching, batching, and processing payments · Responsible for processing employee expense reports in Concur including reimbursements · Preparation of general ledger entries and bank entries · Prepare account reconciliations and allocations including bank reconciliations, employee benefits reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and other balance accounts · Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data · Prepare weekly payment processing batches (checks & ACHs) · Prepare year-end 1099 filings and maintain 1099 and W-9 for vendors · Obtain applicable approvals for all invoices, match with underlying support, and prepare invoice batches · Reconcile vendor statements and research and correct discrepancies · Assist in other areas of finance and accounting
