Description

Our client, a leading international investment firm, is recruiting for a Tax Manager. This newly created position will have strong executive exposure and will lead the tax function as well as support other areas including compliance and investor relations. Key duties for this challenging Tax Manager role will include:

  • Interfacing with firm leadership including finance, the investment team and operations regarding the execution of tax preparation, reporting and compliance including preparation of detailed schedules used for reporting and reconciliation to the accounting books.

  • Coordinating with third-party tax preparers, outside consultants and affiliated portfolio entities as needed to complete tax planning and preparation

  • Overseeing multiple entity tax preparation process covering different deal structures

  • Responsibility for preparation of tax workpapers and related schedules to reconcile for book accounting treatments

  • Managing the overall compliance and review tax returns prepared by outside consultants

  • Planning for tax impacts and changes in tax laws that could affect tax reporting and future decision making

  • Responding to tax related questions from investors and potential investors including performing research as necessary

  • Performing tax estimates for limited partners and other investors as needed

  • Working closely with others in finance and accounting, operations as well as deal teams on projects as needed

Requirements

  • BS in Accounting or related field with four or more years of experience in tax return preparation and tax planning

  • Experience in tax planning and tax estimates including with partnership and complex flow through entities

  • CPA and prior public accounting experience preferred

  • Core knowledge of GAAP accounting and the reconciliation of book to tax differences

  • Proven skills with tax planning in Excel
