Description
Robert Half is working with a company in Waterloo, Iowa in hiring of an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee general accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting or finance, with a proven track record of progressive experience in financial management. This role requires a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive individual who can ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data while supporting the company's strategic financial goals.
Responsibilities:
General Accounting: Oversee all general accounting operations to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including month-end and year-end close processes.
Accounts Receivable (AR): Manage the AR function to ensure timely collection of receivables and accurate recording of all revenue-related transactions.
Accounts Payable (AP): Supervise the AP function to ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, payment processing, and maintenance of vendor relationships.
Payroll Management: Oversee the payroll process to ensure accurate and timely compensation of employees, compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and proper recording of payroll expenses.
Fixed Assets: Manage the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate recording, depreciation, and disposal of assets in accordance with company policy and accounting standards.
Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies. Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance the financial control environment.
Financial Analysis: Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making and strategic planning. Prepare and present financial reports to senior management.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA or MBA preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Attributes: High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
