Description

Utilize your skills as a Controller for Robert Half's excellent clients. This is a very dynamic and high profile area with significant visibility at executive management level. In this Controller role, your responsibilities will include overseeing the process to ensure that models are correct and are fully accrued each month, as well as verifying and holding operations team accountable that end to end incentive processing, payments, accounting, and related financial controls are operating effectively. The Controller position is a long-term contract / temporary engagement located in Waterville, Maine.

Major responsibilities of the Controller

  • Obtain understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners

  • Work closely with Treasury to provide timely cash flow forecasts

  • Become well-versed in key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners

  • Analyze and oversee controls to ensure they are effectively designed and operating in partnership with compliance

  • Collaborate with various business partners for various program controllership and FP& A activities such as ensuring accrual models are accurate and accounting methods are appropriate, as well as true-up activities and answer queries from business, area and subsidiary controllers

  • Continuous review of actual spend against budget and lead necessary actions needed for any expected shortfalls

  • Assemble evidence and qualitative discussion of monthly financial results across global programs to support SOX controls

  • Supervise reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes and tools for the accountable programs

    Requirements

  • Aptitude for communication and negotiation, building trusted advisor/consultant relationships and influencing Executives and Business Decision Makers

  • Demonstrated ability to manage, lead change, and build process improvements

  • Qualified in office and accounting computer systems

  • Practical knowledge of Consolidated Financial

  • General familiarity with Wealth Accumulation

  • Proven knowledge of budgeting

  • Expertise in Process Improvement

  • Earlier work involving SOX

  • Quality experience with Policies And Procedure

  • Consumer collections experience

  • General familiarity with Internal Control

  • Deep understanding of Implement Strategies

  • Previous experience working with Financial Statement

  • Solid understanding of Monthly Close

  • Experience with Prepare Financial Statements

  • Commercial collections experience

  • Solid understanding of Year-end Close

  • Experience with Streamlining

  • Practical knowledge of policies & procedures

  • Cash Collections experience desired

  • Good understanding of Ad Hoc Reporting

  • Well-founded grasp of Budget Processes

  • Well-founded grasp of Internal Control

  • Prior experience with Financial Close Process

  • Skills in financial statement preparation

  • Wide ranging experience with asset management

  • Hands-on experience with month end closings

  • Comprehension of Financial Statement

  • Cash applications experience preferred

  • Foundational knowledge in Solution Implementations

  • Proven knowledge of Consumer Collections

  • Commercial collections experience preferred

  • Professional accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance

  • Good understanding of ERP system is highly valued

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills

  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership across finance team by engaging with different groups around the world via virtual communication
