In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, various aspects of internal reporting will be under your responsibility. You will lend your skills in assisting the development and implementation of accounting policies. Also, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position plays an intricate part in producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. What you get to do every day
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision
Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
Ability to meet deadlines
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Journal entries experience
Demonstrated knowledge of Process Vendor Invoices
General familiarity with Payment Processing
Practical knowledge of Prepare Financial Reports
Solid understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Account analysis experience highly preferred
Microsoft Excel experience
Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
Deep understanding of Analyze Financial Statements
Adeptness in Enter Invoices
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
