Exciting opportunity with great potential in Southeast Mississippi for a Logistics Manager to join a growing company with a well-tenured team! Our client is a leading wholesale trading company in the Southeast U.S. and sells a diverse selection of lumber, building panels and other building materials. The lead Logistic Manager must be experienced in solving shipping/logistics problems or claims as they arise,
including investigating shipper or consignee complaints relating to lost or damaged product or shortages in
shipment. This role will have the overall responsibility of negotiating freight rates, maintaining carrier/broker
relationships and ensuring scheduled shipments are in compliance with interstate trucking laws. The Logistics Manager stays informed and communicates any market trends while continually prospecting new
transportation providers. The lead role is key in training and developing inexperience personnel as well as
handling any complex issues that may arise.
The ideal candidate will have an associate’s degree with a minimum of 6 years related job experience. In
addition to freight claims experience, the applicant should have a strong understanding of state and federal
transportation requirements. In this role, the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects while fielding many
interruptions throughout the working day is needed. Requirements
