Robert Half is reviewing candidates for a renowned services company for an ambitious, determined Controller. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years' experience and a Controller and be a CPA. Manufacturing experience is a plus. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. The Controller will be a 100% onsite permanent employment opportunity and will be located in Wendell North Carolina.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

  • Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

  • Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports

  • Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

  • Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

  • Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

  • Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

    Requirements - Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

  • Earlier work involving SAP

  • Adeptness in financial analysis

  • Financial statement preparation experience required

  • Cash Flow Forecasts experience preferred

  • General ledger experience highly desired

  • Background working with SAP

  • Practical knowledge of Monthly Sales Tax

  • General familiarity with Financial Audits

  • CPA experience highly preferred

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Monthly Financial Statements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of budget forecasting

  • Month end closings experience

  • Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

  • Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
