Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity in the Energy/Natural Resources industry located in West Allis, Wisconsin. The role is for a Payroll Coordinator, who will play a crucial role in maintaining an efficient payroll system for our team, ensuring accuracy in processing and recording payroll transactions.
Responsibilities
• Conduct thorough weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles for different personnel groups.
• Import and validate hours worked from the accounting system into the payroll system.
• Manage time banks, including sick leave and floating vacations.
• Ensure effective management of vacation pay and salary inputs.
• Conduct timely payroll transmissions consistently.
• Collaborate with the accounting department to send payroll accounting entries weekly.
• Maintain and update employment records as necessary.
• Address inquiries related to employment insurance promptly.
• Participate in audits and ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley 404.
• Act as the primary contact for all payroll-related matters, responding to both internal and external queries.
• Contribute to the year-end process, ensuring compliance with all necessary requirements.
• Prepare month-end reports adhering to set deadlines and manage check requisitions related to pension plans, union dues, and social clubs.
• Complete reports required by Statistics Canada and maintain all payroll-related documentation. Requirements • Proficiency in payroll functions and payroll compliance management.
• Demonstrated experience in dealing with insurance and pension plans.
• Solid understanding of salary structures and accounting entries.
• Proficiency in using the 'About Time' software for payroll management.
• Strong auditing skills, particularly in relation to payroll.
• Familiarity with Sarbanes Oxley 404 compliance requirements.
• Ability to manage month-end reports and requisitions.
• Experience with union dues and CSST.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis related to payroll.
• Ability to answer payroll related queries promptly and accurately.
• Experience in floating within different roles as part of a payroll team.
• Knowledge of QA management related to payroll.
• Proficiency in various accounting functions related to payroll.
