Robert Half Cost Accountant in West Chester, Ohio

Description We are in search of a focused and analytical Cost Accountant to be a part of our team located in West Chester, Ohio. The work of a Cost Accountant in our organization primarily revolves around the management and analysis of cost structures, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and strategic cost management. This role plays a crucial role in maintaining standard costs, offering detailed cost analysis to support decision-making processes, and enhancing financial performance.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain cost accounting systems across multiple companies, incorporating an understanding of manufacturing operations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Collaborate and align costing systems and policies across diverse companies and product lines.

• Work closely with international intercompany partners to align costing systems/inventory valuations with IFRS requirements for local reporting.

• Ensure compliance with international transfer pricing policies and tolling agreements.

• Conduct annual cost roll and inventory revaluation, enhancing accuracy of cost components through close collaboration with other departments.

• Offer detailed cost analysis and reports for management, including product costing, pricing strategies, and profitability analysis.

• Analyze cost variances and provide insights into cost behavior and trends.

• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost efficiency and profitability.

• Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies for cost reduction.

• Regularly conduct cost audits and reviews to ensure compliance and accuracy.

• Collaborate with other departments to gather cost estimates and financial projections. Requirements • Applicant must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Cost Accountant role or a similar field.

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is a key requirement.

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is a significant advantage.

• Competence in using Crystal Reports is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of Epicor is an added value.

• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is essential.

• Ability to perform Accounting Functions effectively is required.

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) is a must.

• A proven track record in Auditing is highly desirable.

• Strong understanding of Budget Processes is necessary.

• Experience in managing Cash Activity is a must.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.

• Experience in conducting Annual Standard Cost is a significant advantage.
