Description We are in need of a Staff Auditor - Public for our CA Firm located in West Covina, California, 91790, United States. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and involves tasks such as planning and conducting financial audits, identifying business process risks and evaluating accounting documentation. The successful candidate will also be responsible for advising non-profit clients on improving financial management practices.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct operational and financial audits to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in our business processes.

• Identify potential risks in business processes and devise audit plans to mitigate these risks.

• Conduct follow-up audits to monitor the effectiveness of management interventions.

• Analyze and evaluate accounting documentation, reports, data, and flowcharts to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Prepare and present comprehensive reports detailing audit results and documenting the process.

• Conduct special audits at the request of management and investigate suspected instances of fraud or misuse of funds.

• Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls in place within the organization.

• Verify and assess the financial records, transactions, and procedures of non-profit organizations to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

• Provide advice to non-profit clients on improving financial management practices and suggest improvements to their internal processes and controls.

• Use Accounting Software Systems, Audit Program, CaseWare, CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Sales Tax, and other relevant skills to perform auditing tasks effectively. Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with Audit Program

• Experience with CaseWare

• Proficiency in CCH ProSystem Fx

• Knowledge of CCH Sales Tax

• Ability to perform Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Ability to interpret Audit Findings

• Experience in Auditing for Non-profits

• Ability to develop Audit Plans
