Robert Half Staff Accountant in West Hartford, Connecticut

Description

Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant! We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team located in West Hartford, Connecticut. The role will involve various accounting functions such as Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, and General Ledger maintenance. The Staff Accountant will also have the opportunity to work with different accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the general ledger.

• Handle accounts payable and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.

• Manage accounts receivable and promptly handle any inconsistencies or discrepancies.

• Execute bank reconciliations regularly to maintain accurate financial records.

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries.

• Manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

• Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP to streamline accounting processes and procedures.

• Adhere to all company policies and procedures to maintain a smooth-running accounting department.

• Collaborate with the accounting team to continuously improve and automate the accounting process.

Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Skilled in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Knowledgeable in maintaining and managing General Ledger

• Experienced in creating Journal Entries

• Capable of handling Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with financial software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP is required

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a team

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred
