Description
Our non-profit client is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Temporary Accounting Clerk to assist with our year-end close process. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our financial records as we finalize our fiscal year-end. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to supporting our mission to improve community well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Entry & Verification:
Enter and verify financial transactions in the accounting system.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting data.
Reconciliation:
Assist in reconciling bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
Documentation:
Organize and maintain financial documents, receipts, invoices, and other records.
Ensure proper documentation and filing for audit purposes.
Financial Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Support the Finance Manager in the generation of year-end financial summaries.
Support Year-End Close:
Participate in the year-end close process, including journal entries, adjustments, and ledger maintenance.
Help prepare for external audits by gathering required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
General Administrative Support:
Perform general office duties as needed, including copying, scanning, and filing.
Provide support to the finance team on various projects and tasks.
Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
Experience with non-profit accounting is a plus.
