Robert Half Sr. Accountant in West Memphis, Arkansas
Description We are in the process of recruiting a Sr. Accountant to join our team in West Memphis, Arkansas. As a crucial part of our finance department, the Sr. Accountant will have a wide range of responsibilities, including maintaining compliance with local accounting standards, overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting models. This role also involves managing the general ledger and assisting with month-end and year-end close activities.
Key responsibilities:
• Complying with local accounting standards and practices
• Managing inter-company international transfers
• Overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities, including collection of past due accounts
• Gaining experience with various tax types including income, state, county, and city
• Collaborating with the Supply Chain Department to ensure adequate processes are in place for inventory control
• Handling costing for Bill of Materials (BOM) and capital expenditures
• Analyzing financial reports and managing the general ledger
• Assisting with month-end/year-end close activities
• Assisting the US Finance Manager with budget/forecasting models as assigned
• Developing standard and ad hoc reports to support business objectives
• Conducting research as needed during internal and external auditor activity
• Providing accurate and timely accounting assistance across the company
• Ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate policies, regulations, and laws
• Adhering to all Health, Safety & Environmental requirements that are defined within set work instructions
• Performing other related duties, special projects or assignments as required

• SAP Requirements • Must have experience in the role of a Sr. Accountant or similar position
• Proficiency in account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation
• Experience in performing bank reconciliations
• Knowledge and practical experience with general ledger
• Ability to prepare and review journal entries
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with month-end close processes
• Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional certification (such as CPA) is desirable but not mandatory
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
