This West Memphis, Arkansas area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. You might be a good fit for this position if you have the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Candidates who can participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes will be preferred for this role. If you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets, you will be preferred for this role.
Major responsibilities
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation Requirements - Recent and relevant accounting experience
Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Well-founded grasp of Fixed Asset Records
Proven knowledge of Sales Tax Returns
Experience with Sales Tax
Solid understanding of Enter Vendor Invoices
Monthly Sales Tax experience
Process Vendor Invoices experience
Deep understanding of Vendor Invoices
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Efficient in ERP systems
