Robert Half Network Administrator in West Palm Beach, Florida
Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity in the Local Government industry, based in West Palm Beach, Florida. This role involves the position of a Network Administrator, where the individual will be tasked with the administration and maintenance of a citywide communications network.
Responsibilities:
• Administer and maintain a citywide communications network, integrating all voice, data, and video communications over a variety of mediums including copper, fiber optic, microwave, and RF.
• Analyze and resolve network-related issues affecting end user performance.
• Ensure appropriate network connectivity, security measures, and data integrity procedures are in place and operational.
• Manage the operations of a citywide fiber optic network, coordinating the connectivity and utilization between other agencies.
• Develop and implement technical and operational procedures for network access and connectivity.
• Identify and perform assessments relating to the communication and networking requirements of the department.
• Supervise professional, technical, and clerical personnel in the support of telephone, computer systems, and networking operations.
• Evaluate the performance of subordinates and make disciplinary, hiring, and discharge decisions.
• Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal legal requirements regarding licensing and network connectivity.
• Use skills in project management, systems analysis, planning, and organizing to effectively manage network operations.

• Extensive experience in Configuration Management
• Demonstrable experience in Deployments
• Prior work experience in a Local Government setting is preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively with teams and manage multiple tasks
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred
