Job Description:

As a Staff Accountant at Robert Half, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data through various accounting functions. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Assisting in the preparation and posting of journal entries for various transactions, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and depreciation.

  • Conducting detailed analysis of general ledger accounts to identify discrepancies, trends, and variances, and recommending corrective actions as necessary.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting purposes.

  • Supporting the month-end and year-end close processes by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and other documentation as required.

  • Assisting with internal and external audits by providing supporting documents, explanations, and analyses as requested.

  • Contributing to process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting department by identifying opportunities for automation and optimization.

  • Adhering to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.

  • Providing support to the Finance team in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred.

  • 2+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment or public accounting firm.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to interpret financial data.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of US GAAP and regulatory requirements.

  • High level of integrity and professionalism with a commitment to upholding ethical standards in financial reporting.
