Robert Half Payroll Manager in Westborough, Massachusetts
Description
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations for a large manufacturing division in the Westborough, MA area.
In this role, you will manage a team of five payroll administrators while also processing payroll for salaried employees, ensuring accurate and timely payroll and benefit reconciliations. You will assist with month-end and year-end payroll close processes, including W-2s, tax forms, and other government-required documentation. Additionally, you will participate in and manage payroll audits, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations. You will critically review payroll and tax procedures to recommend and implement best practices, as well as maintain the ADP master file, including handling custom calculations, updates, and feeds across all company codes. This role requires close collaboration with internal and external auditors, conducting Sarbanes-Oxley audits, and preparing payroll-related management reports. You will also train and develop team members on payroll systems, procedures, and policies, and communicate with other locations to ensure deadlines are met and changes are implemented effectively.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7+ years of high-volume, full-cycle payroll processing experience, with at least 2+ years in a management role. Strong experience with ADP, preferably Vantage, as well as proficiency in Excel, MS Office, and knowledge of Workday is required. Requirements
• Proficiency in the use of ADP Workforce Now for payroll management.
• Familiarity with About Time timekeeping software.
• Proven experience in conducting financial audits.
• Understanding of benefit functions including administration and management.
• Ability to manage automated payroll systems effectively.
• Experience with full cycle payroll processing.
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience in payroll management.
• Experience in handling payroll for over 500 employees.
• Familiarity with ADP - Payroll software and its functionalities.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to supervise a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional certification in Payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional) is advantageous.
