Robert Half Sr. Tax Accountant in Westborough, Massachusetts
Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Tax Accountant to join our team in Westborough, Massachusetts. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing various types of tax returns, researching tax matters, and providing support to the team. This position is based in our office and requires on-site attendance five days a week.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough research on various tax matters to resolve complex issues
• Lead the process of preparing and reviewing individual tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Ensure efficient processing of corporate, partnerships, and trust tax returns
• Provide support and guidance to tax interns, fostering a supportive and productive work environment
• Utilize business systems and financial software to manage accounting functions effectively
• Maintain updated knowledge on tax ERP systems to streamline tax return preparations
• Collaborate with team members to handle individual, corporate, and consolidated tax returns
• Manage the preparation of Form 1099 and other tax-related documents
• Monitor and update customer accounts regularly, taking appropriate action when necessary
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive financial information. Requirements
• Mastery of business systems and their application in a financial context
• Proficiency in the use of financial software, including data analysis and financial reporting tools
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions and principles
• Extensive experience in preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns
• Demonstrated ability in preparing and reviewing individual tax returns
• Familiarity with Form 1099 and its implications in tax filing
• Experience in preparing and reviewing consolidated tax returns
• Ability to interpret and apply current tax legislation
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; a master's degree or CPA certification is preferred
• Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role or in a tax-related field.
