Robert Half Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist in Westerville, Ohio

Description We are offering a role for a Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist in the healthcare industry, situated in WESTERVILLE, Ohio. This position entails the efficient collection of payments for medical services provided for assigned physicians. The role operates within a healthcare setting and is a contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Reviewing and following up on outstanding claims from insurance carriers for specified physicians.

• Conducting regular audits of charges for optimal charge coding.

• Communicating professionally with physicians and their staff regarding reimbursement issues.

• Keeping abreast of changes in medical billing and coding procedures and adhering to insurance carrier guidelines.

• Recording account receivable actions accurately for each claim denial.

• Following department collection guidelines and procedures for outstanding patient and insurance balances.

• Timely submission of corrected claims and appeals to insurance carriers.

• Responding to all types of correspondence within a week of receipt.

• Communicating professionally with patients, insurance carriers, and other external entities.

• Maintaining a professional and pleasant tone during stressful circumstances and heavy workload.

• Collaborating with staff members in a professional, pleasant manner. Requirements • Must have at least 3 years of experience working as a Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist or similar role

• Proficiency in Insurance Claims, Medical Claims, and Audit Functions

• Experience with Claims audits and working in a Medical Office setting

• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems

• Comprehensive knowledge of Insurance Billing, Insurance Denials, and Insurance Follow-up procedures

• Understanding of Medical Insurance and Medical Insurance Billing practices

• Experience with Patient Insurance, Medical Collections, and Patient Accounting

• Ability to manage Patient Balance, conduct Patient Collections, and interact with patients professionally

• Proficiency in handling Patient Medical Records and processing Patient Payments

• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

• Must be detail-oriented and capable of maintaining a high level of accuracy in all work

• Demonstrable problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Must be legally authorized to work in the country the role is based in without any sponsorship requirements.
