Robert Half Sr. Tax Accountant in Westlake, Ohio
Description We are looking for a Sr. Tax Accountant to join our team in the manufacturing industry located in Westlake, Ohio. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including state and local tax compliance, multi-state tax returns, and local tax. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity and will require proficiency in CorpTax software and Microsoft Excel.
Responsibilities:
• Comply with state and local tax regulations
• Prepare and file multi-state tax returns accurately
• Handle any inquiries related to local tax
• Utilize CorpTax software for compliance activities
• Use Microsoft Excel for data analysis and report generation
• Monitor and address any state modifications
• Collaborate with other teams for the provision of OneSource
• Ensure all tax records are up-to-date and accurate
• Handle any tax related issues promptly and professionally
• Stay updated on any changes in state and local tax laws and regulations. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a tax accounting role, preferably in the manufacturing industry
• Demonstrated proficiency in State tax, Multi-state Tax Returns, Local Tax
• Proficient in using CorpTax Software for tax processes and computations
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas, pivot tables, and charts
• Strong knowledge of tax codes, compliance and procedures related to manufacturing industry
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for liaising with internal teams and external agencies
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification would be an advantage
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet strict deadlines
• Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve tax issues
• Familiarity with financial reporting and other accounting practices related to taxation
• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
