Description We are looking for a Payroll Accountant to join our team based in Westport, Connecticut. This role involves overseeing our payroll functions, handling accounts payable and receivable, and interacting with field employees. The successful candidate will provide a critical contribution to our accounting and payroll sectors, with added elements related to contracting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Manage foreman paperwork related to crew timings.

• Use the "Busy" timecard system for clocking in/out, requiring payroll reconciliation.

• Allocate billing time to project codes for clients, demonstrating high attention to detail.

• Handle Accounts Receivable tasks, working closely with foremen on each project to track and bill all used resources as per contract.

• Engage effectively with field employees, fostering a positive and professional working relationship.

• Demonstrate proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel, including formula use, to maintain accurate financial records.

• Contribute to the efficient operation of projects and the satisfaction of clients and employees alike.

• Ensure accurate billing and payroll processes are maintained at all times.

• Expand responsibilities over time, as required, to meet the evolving needs of the team. Requirements

• Very Proficient in Payroll functions, and will handle weekly Payroll responsibilities

• Proficiency in Accounting Functions such as Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel

• Ability to manage accounting for Construction Projects

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience required

• Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information.
