Robert Half Medical Billing Specialist in Wexford, Pennsylvania
Description We are looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team based in Wexford, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of duties relating to medical billing and coding, including handling insurance claims and patient inquiries. This position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage all aspects related to medical billing and coding for patient services.
• Submit and manage claims to insurance companies, ensuring prompt and accurate billing to maximize revenue.
• Verify insurance benefits and coverage for patients and perform regular follow-ups with insurance providers on unpaid claims.
• Update and maintain patient records with billing and personal details.
• Implement and adhere to procedures for managing behavioral health billing processes.
• Address and resolve patient billing complaints and inquiries.
• Coordinate with treatment providers to ensure proper billing information exchange.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
• Utilize various skills including Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), EHR SYSTEM, and Epaces to perform duties effectively.
• Handle account receivable functions, claim administration, billing functions, and appeals. Requirements • Proficiency in medical billing software including Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, and EHR SYSTEM
• Knowledge of Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) and Epaces
• Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR) management
• Experience in handling billing functions and claim administration
• Ability to handle appeals related to medical billing
• Understanding of benefit functions in the medical sector
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex billing issues.
