Robert Half Paralegal in Wheaton, Illinois

Description We are looking for an organized Paralegal to join our team in Wheaton, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for managing case files, drafting routine court filings, and assisting attorneys in all phases of discovery. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain electronic files and dockets for the litigation team, ensuring accurate indexing of pleadings and timely calendaring of hearings and deadlines.

• Handle e-filing of pleadings in state, federal, and appellate courts.

• Assist in drafting routine court filings, discovery, and correspondence for attorney review.

• Provide administrative and logistical support for assigned matters, including client and court interactions, deposition and meeting scheduling, and drafting engagement letters.

• Check citations, format, and proofread pleadings, memorandums, and briefs, preparing tables of contents and tables of authority.

• Support attorneys with all phases of discovery, including preparation of templates, drafting and formatting requests and responses, and maintaining production indices.

• Assist with deposition preparation, including preparing exhibits, coordinating reporting services and deposition locations, and preparing subpoenas and subject matter riders.

• Support trial preparation, including preparing witness lists, exhibit lists, and trial notebooks.

• Communicate and coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and other professionals involved in litigation matters.

• Conduct other tasks and research projects as assigned. Requirements • Proficiency in Case Management Software is required

• Must have experience with e-Filing systems

• Knowledge of Court Filings procedures is necessary

• Familiarity with Pre-trials processes is expected

• Previous experience as a Litigation Paralegal is essential

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are key

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Must have a strong attention to detail

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills are necessary

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

• Must have a proactive approach to problem-solving

• Ability to work both independently and within a team

• Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant field

• A Paralegal certification will be considered an advantage.
