Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in the WHITE PLAINS, New York for a long term contract opportunity. You will be responsible for:

• Process and prepare monthly journal entries and workpapers for various markets during month, quarter, and year-end closings.

• Collaborate cross-functionally and with plant controllers to develop an understanding of underlying account activity.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly fixed asset and depreciation entries for the corporate HQ location.

• Oversee and manage accounting and eliminations related to the Canadian branch business.

• Provide support to the tax department with Canadian GST tax filings.

• Engage in the preparation of US census and other governmental compliance reporting involving financial information.

• Review daily cash entries and assist with related month-end cash reconciliations.

• Support FP& A with the preparation of budgets and forecasts for various accounts.

• Identify and develop solutions to improve the efficiency of the monthly financial closing cycle.

• Collaborate with controllership function at the domestic plant locations, as well as with many functional areas at the corporate headquarters

Requirements

• Possession of advanced skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Proven knowledge and experience in managing General Ledger and Journal Entries.

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for accounting tasks and data analysis.

• Experience in conducting Month End Close and Month-end Close Activities.

• Experience with Oracle a bonus.

• Demonstrated ability to perform tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to identify discrepancies in financial data.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and team collaboration.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

• CPA certification or relevant professional qualification is preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably as a Senior Accountant.

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.

• Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
