Description

Our client a well-established, best in class, rapidly growing company in the Wilkes-Barre, PA area seeks a Director of Human Resources to provide consultative leadership working closely with the president and executive suite in leading the company to new heights.

The ideal candidate will provide leadership in the areas of employee handbook creation, implementing policies and procedures, employee relations, standardizing performance management, enhancing training and development, compensation and benefit analytics and improvements among other initiatives.

The successful human resources professional will have the ability to work seamlessly with both corporate office staff and field employees.

Key Responsibilities of the Human Resource Director will include:

Strategic HR Management:

Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.

Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.

Manage the recruitment and selection process to ensure the company attracts, recruits, and retains top talent.

Policy Development and Compliance:

Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.

Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.

Employee Development:

Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.

Maintain pay plan and benefits program.

Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.

Culture and Employee Relations:

Nurture a positive working environment.

Maintain and improve employee engagement and satisfaction.

Operational Management:

Oversee and manage the HR department’s daily operations.

Report to senior management and provide decision support through HR metrics.

Ensure HR systems and processes are efficient and meet the needs of the organization.

Leadership:

Lead and mentor HR staff, ensuring a high standard of service and development within the team.

Participate in executive, management, and company staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars.

Requirements

Qualifications of the successful Human Resource Director will include:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, PHR) highly desirable.

A minimum of 10 years of HR experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

Experience in strategic planning and execution.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office Suite.

Preferred Skills:

Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Demonstrated ability to build and sustain positive relationships at all levels within the organization.

Process improvement experience within the human resource function

• Proven track record as an HR Director or similar role

• Proficient in ADP Workforce Now

• Expertise in Compensation Administration

• Knowledge and understanding of Compliance and C-Suite operations

• Strong skills in Employee Relations and Benchmarking

• Experience in Benefits Administration and Benefits Coordination

• Ability to manage Change effectively

• Expertise in Compensation & Benefits

• Knowledge of HR Compliance and HR Policy

• Experience in developing HR Strategy

• Proven capability in Human Resources (HR) Administration

• Knowledge of Labor Law

• Experience in Onboarding new employees

• Skills in Training & Development

• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills

• Ability to manage and resolve complex HR-related issues.
