Description
We are offering an opportunity for a Tax Sr. for a newly created family office, located in the WILKES-BARRE, Pennsylvania area. The role involves managing financial planning, overseeing tax-related matters, preparing/reviewing tax returns, assisting with tax and financial planning, and managing general ledgers for family entities.
Responsibilities:
• Projecting, strategizing, and maintaining financial goals as part of the financial planning process
• Overseeing tax-related matters and conducting tax research
• Preparing and reviewing tax returns for partnerships, individuals, and trusts
• Assisting with tax and financial planning to ensure financial stability and growth
• Managing general ledgers and financial statements for family entities
• Monitoring industry trends to stay updated and ensuring compliance with deadlines
• Utilizing Accounting Software Systems to manage and track financial data
• Handling complex and consolidated tax returns, estate tax, and gift tax
• Ensuring accurate trust tax returns and estate tax return management
• Utilizing CPA skills for effective tax management and financial planning.
Requirements
Requirements of the successful senior tax accountant for the family office:
Degree in Accounting
CPA
5+ years of public tax experienced or a public/private mix
Experience with trust, partnership, and complicated individual tax returns.
Experience doing extensive tax research on complicated matters.
Family office experience a big plus!
LLM in taxation a big plus!
• Must have proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Capable of handling Cash Activity
• Experience in preparing Complex Tax Returns
• Familiarity with Consolidated Tax Returns
• Knowledgeable in Estate Tax and Estate Tax Return preparation
• Ability to prepare Federal Tax Returns
• Understanding of Gift tax legislation
• Experience in handling Trust Tax Returns
• Familiarity with Tax - Trust & Estate and Tax - Fiduciary - Trust & Estate
• Experience in preparing Trust Returns
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required
• Must have experience in the Real Estate & Property industry
• Experience in Corporate Tax is a must
