Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Manager in Wilmington, Delaware


Robert Half Talent Solutions is currently working with a client on their search for a HR Manager. This HR Manager will oversee the company’s recruiting and hiring process, learning and development, compliance, and policies and procedures. The ideal candidate for this role must have well rounded human resource experience, ability to provide conflict resolution, and knowledge of HR systems and databases. Major responsibilities

  • Study compensation standards set by industry and governing bodies in order to create salary structures and administer employee benefits

  • Inform employees such that they follow all policies and procedures

  • Lead all HR activities, communications, reports, requests and documents created and received by the team

  • Build up the organization's human resources department by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices

  • Manage human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees

  • Be present at interdepartmental meetings with other managers

  • Keep historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records

  • Put in place management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures

  • Maintain and deploy applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conduct investigations, maintain records, and represent the organization at hearings

  • Assess reports provided by the HR team, team leaders and operations managers to determine employee performance and training needs

  • Outline recruitment plans, interview schedules and evaluation standards in accordance with HR methodologies and labor laws

  • Lead and define exit interviews and procedures


  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field

  • 5+ years in human resources

  • 1+ years of supervisory experience within human resources

  • Solid understanding of HR software and strong familiarity of MS Office

  • PHR/SPHR or other relevant certifications are desired

  • Skilled in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion

  • A familiarity with the main ideas of employment law and EEOC regulations

  • Broad knowledge of HR policies, benefits administration, compensation and wage structure

  • Unimpeachable ethics, integrity, and standards

  • Strong communication and social skills
