Description Requiring proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Robert Half seeks a Payroll Administrator to help process payroll. This position is an opportunity for career growth on a dedicated and passionate team. Located in Wilmington, Massachusetts, the Payroll Administrator is a long-term contract / temporary role.

Your responsibilities

  • Prepare for department heads relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports

  • Manage and review, including verify, source documents

  • Manage payroll information requests and questions

  • Manage issues related to employee deductions and other liabilities, including reconciling

  • Promote employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and keeping information confidential

  • Understand and report necessary changes to payroll operations by maintaining established policies and procedures

  • Preparing reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages

  • Provide assistance as necessary for all internal and external audits related to payroll

  • Managing payroll information by keeping proper records for collecting, calculating, and entering data

  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines

  • Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

  • Manage other tasks as assigned

  • Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments

  • Maintain all updates of payroll records by tracking changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers Requirements - Experience with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.

  • Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Prior experience working with accounting software

  • Solid understanding of navigating basic office equipment and protocols

  • Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills

  • Meet and uphold Certified Payroll Professional criteria

  • Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required

  • Proficient knowledge of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen

  • Relevant experience of 2+ years in payroll

  • Expertise with internal controls

  • Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
