Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist in Wilmington, Delaware. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be crucial in maintaining the financial stability of our healthcare operations. You will be tasked with managing medical billing accounts and ensuring the accuracy of medical claims, thereby maximizing revenue and minimizing denials.
Responsibilities:
• Review, analyze, and prepare medical claims ensuring their completeness and accuracy.
• Efficiently submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies.
• Proactively follow up on outstanding claims and denials, resolving them in a timely manner.
• Investigate and rectify billing discrepancies and unpaid claims.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients, minimizing potential payment issues.
• Process patient payments and reconcile accounts receivable regularly.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with patients, insurance companies, and internal staff regarding billing and payment inquiries.
• Stay updated with insurance regulations and billing guidelines, ensuring compliance at all times.
• Handle and resolve patient billing queries effectively and promptly.
• Monitor and manage medical billing claims and accounts receivable to improve financial health. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing.
• Demonstrated proficiency in managing Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Experience in handling Insurance Claims is essential.
• Ability to manage and address Claim Denials effectively.
• Proficiency in using medical billing software and tools.
• Knowledge of medical billing regulations and medical terminologies.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with insurance companies and patients.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Problem-solving skills to resolve billing discrepancies and issues.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification in medical billing or coding would be advantageous.
