POSITION: PROJECT ACCOUNTANT
LOCATION: WINDSOR, CT (HYBRID - 3 Days in Office, 2 Days Remote)

We are offering an opportunity for a Project Accountant for a growing Engineering & Service Company in the Windsor, Connecticut area. The role focuses on managing daily financial activities, maintaining financial records, and supporting various accounting functions for ongoing projects. The environment is dynamic and calls for a detailed-oriented Entreprenurial individual.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance
• Accurately record financial transactions and ensure precise data entries in the accounting software
• Review transactions entered by bookkeeper for accuracy
• Prepare and issue invoices to clients for projects and services rendered
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments to ensure timely collection
• Conduct monthly bank, credit card and other account reconciliations to ensure accurate reflection of all transactions in financial records
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
• Provide financial analysis to support Project Managers' decision-making
• Assist in developing annual budgets and financial forecasts, tracking performance against budgeted figures on specific jobs
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax returns
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and information

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• 3+ Years of related career experience in accounting
• Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with General Ledger management
• Ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries
• Experience in Month End Close processes
• Proficiency in using QuickBooks software for accounting tasks
• Knowledge of Project Accounting gained from direct experience in the Construction, Engineering or Service Industries is necessary
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
