Position: Accounting Manager in the Construction and Materials Industry
A great robert Half client has a need for a new Accounting Manager out of the Wixom/Novi/Livonia area! Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, including job costing and monitoring of work-in-progress (WIP) accounts to accurately reflect ongoing costs and revenues.
Prepare, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP, ensuring job costing and WIP adjustments are accurately recorded and analyzed.
Coordinate and lead the budgeting and forecasting process, incorporating detailed job cost analyses and projections for work-in-progress to ensure financial goals are met.
Oversee the complete financial management of fleet and capital equipment, including job costing, maintenance, rental, leasing, service, and repair, ensuring accurate cost tracking and profitability analysis.
Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures focused on job costing accuracy and efficient tracking of work-in-progress, ensuring the integrity of financial data.
Analyze financial data related to job costs and work-in-progress, providing insights into project profitability, cost trends, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Manage and optimize financing and leasing arrangements with a keen focus on job cost implications and capital allocation to work-in-progress, enhancing financial performance.
Lead special projects and initiatives to improve financial processes and systems, with a particular focus on enhancing job costing, work-in-progress management, and overall project accounting practices.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Experience in fleet management, capital equipment maintenance, rental, leasing, service, and repair industry is a plus.
Proficient in accounting software and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
