Description A current opening through Robert Half, seeks an ambitious, determined Controller to join the team at a prominent services company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities
Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash Requirements - Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Financial Statement experience desired
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Excellent attention to detail
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
