Description Robert Half is actively searching for an earnest, resourceful Controller to join the innovative team at an prominent services company. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. Responsibilities

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

  • Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations

  • Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

  • Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

  • Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

  • Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

  • Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

  • Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

  • Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities Requirements - Oracle experience

  • Foundational knowledge in standard costs

  • Analysis experience highly desired

  • Deep understanding of month end closings

  • Solid understanding of Power BI

  • Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

  • Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

  • Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
