Cindy Bradley is actively seeking strong staff accountant to join this growing company located in WEST Houston! Will be in office with ability to work HYBRID , work from home 2 days /week. Client is seeking Corporate Staff Accountant to join our finance team at a leading global lab testing company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling high-volume transactions in the general ledger, performing complex reconciliations, preparing financial statements, reconciling balance sheets, managing fixed assets, and demonstrating proficiency in advanced Excel and ERP systems. This is a hybrid role that combines both remote and in-office work to support our dynamic and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger Management:

Process and record high-volume transactions in the general ledger accurately and in a timely manner.

Ensure proper coding, classification, and documentation of financial transactions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for accurate financial recording.

Reconciliation Expertise:

Perform detailed and complex reconciliations, including bank accounts, intercompany accounts, and other critical accounts.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies, working closely with various departments to address issues promptly.

Financial Statement Preparation:

Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Compile financial data, prepare supporting schedules, and contribute to the analysis of financial performance.

Balance Sheet Reconciliations:

Reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of account balances.

Identify and address reconciling items, and provide explanations for any variances.

Fixed Assets Management:

Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, including acquisition, depreciation, and disposal.

Perform periodic reconciliations and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.

Advanced Excel Proficiency:

Utilize advanced Excel functions and tools to manipulate and analyze financial data effectively.

Develop and maintain financial models and templates to support decision-making processes.

ERP System Utilization:

Leverage strong ERP system skills to enter, retrieve, and analyze financial data.

Collaborate with IT and other teams to enhance ERP system functionality and data integrity.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent qualification is a plus.

Minimum of [X] years of experience in corporate accounting roles, preferably with high transaction volume exposure.

In-depth understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data manipulation.

Extensive experience with ERP systems; familiarity with [Specific ERP System] is a plus.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Cognos experience preferred

  • General ledger experience

  • Deep understanding of PeopleSoft

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Adeptness in account reconciliation

  • Lawson experience

  • Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
