Robert Half Manager of Clinical Research Technology in Worcester, Massachusetts

Description

Robert Half is seeking a Manager of Clinical Research Technology.

This role will lead the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of institutional software and big data solutions. You will be responsible for advancing research, translating findings to clinical practice, and ensuring efficient technology support for research activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Vision: Develop and implement technology solutions aligned with the medical school's strategic and tactical plans.

  • Platform Management: Oversee existing research platforms and processes, identify improvement areas, and implement efficient solutions.

  • OnCore Expertise: Manage the implementation, maintenance, and updates of OnCore CTMS and other research applications.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a technical team to deliver technology solutions for internal users.

  • Vendor Management: Build and manage strategic relationships with technology vendors and partners.

  • Consulting and Guidance: Provide consulting expertise to research leaders and business units on potential technology solutions.

  • Budget and Planning: Participate in long-range planning and budgeting for the department.

  • System Upgrades: Collaborate with clinical partners and vendors to oversee technical system upgrades.

  • Project Management: Lead or participate in RFP development, software acquisitions, and implementation projects.

  • User Management: Establish priorities for system modifications and requests, optimize team staffing, and ensure effective organization.

  • Hardware and Infrastructure: Evaluate hardware and platform needs, recommend acquisitions, and maintain a robust infrastructure.

  • Tool Identification: Research and implement efficient tools for business and research application design and development.

  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure adherence to professional and industry standards, institutional policies, and quality standards for various technical processes.

  • Staff Development: Manage staff personnel, provide training, and conduct performance evaluations.

  • Communication and Training: Prepare educational materials, train researchers on technology use, and conduct relevant technology courses.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or related field (or equivalent experience)

7+ years of experience in technology development and implementation, preferably in research or academic settings

Proven experience working in a scientific, research, or academic environment

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Demonstrated ability to document and communicate effectively in writing

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience with OnCore CTMS, Huron Research Suite, and/or EPIC

Experience working directly with researchers using various research-related technology systems

Experience in research-focused and compliance/regulatory environments

Familiarity with cloud-based services from major hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
