Description

Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity. Duties will include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close and assisting in development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will play an active role in compliance, collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Based in the York, Pennsylvania, this family owned firm offers an engaging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards.

  • Assist in the preparation of management reports, budgets, and forecasts.

  • Handle NIIT reimbursements to partners through analyzing long-term and short-term capital gains and retained earnings

  • Utilize Net asset value/tax value of the partnership to determine equity share

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries.

  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.

  • Stay informed about changes in tax regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial information.

  • Provide professional and courteous service to address client inquiries.

  • Assist in audit engagements by preparing supporting documentation and schedules.

  • Collaborate with audit teams to ensure accurate and efficient audit processes.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • 3+ years of general accounting experience

  • 1+ years of relevant accounting experience in a CPA firm or related industry.

  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
