Our client in York is hiring an Accountant for a small, fast-growing investment firm. This is a long-term temporary-to-full-time employment opportunity , so if you are a dedicated candidate, you might be a good fit. You will be responsible for advising management on the allocation of resources to accomplish objectives in a timely manner and preparing reports for management. You will join a dynamic team as a key member of the accounting team in areas including forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. This Accountant role is based in the York, Pennsylvania, area. We seek a candidate with a strong work ethic and a demonstrated competency in Accounting.

What you get to do every day

  • Oversee the monthly and quarterly financial close process by working with Accounting

  • Reconciliations (Month-End Close) Reconcile bank and brokerage accounts

  • Ideal candidate would have an adaptable nature and experience dealing with vast amounts of information while exceeding expectations

  • Assess potential risks and opportunities and research performance

  • Create Quarterly investment reports, download investment reporting data and create spreadsheets for distribution to senior management

  • Perform extensive research on the underlying internal and external drivers that are affecting performance and trending

  • Work next to cross-functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans

  • Audits - Review activity of accounts to ensure all transactions are authorized and accurate

  • Ad hoc projects - Upon request, participate in accounting / investment related projects

  • Maintain weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting

    Requirements

  • Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is ideal, but not required

  • Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills

  • Skills in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly desired (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

  • BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

  • Bank reconciliations experience desired

  • Strong familiarity with journal entries

  • Demonstrated knowledge of tax returns

  • Experience with QuickBooks or Quicken

  • Knowledge of general ledger

  • Adeptness in auditing

  • Critical thinking, problem solving, ability to work independently

  • Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Background in financial analysis and planning
